Mr. Boris Stavrevich, age 102, of 216 Hazen Ave., Ellport, passed away at his residence on Monday October 13, 2008 at 8:42pm.
Mr. Stavrevich was born on August 28, 1906 to the late Stavro & Sophie Stavrevich in Macedonia. Boris came to Ellwood City in 1925 and worked at the US Steel Ellwood City plant in the Hot Mill department for 21 years and 5 months. Afterwhich, he worked for the European Bakery on Lawrence Ave. for eight years, and then with Gus Spoa in Gus's grocery store until his retirement.
Mr. Stavrevich is a past member of the St. Joseph's Church in Ellport, and presently a member of the Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City. Also, Boris is a life member of the MOOSE #93.
Boris is survived by two daughters and son in laws , Sandra & John Conti of Ellport, and Donna Falotico & Ron Ferrante of Ellport, five grandchildren and their spouses ; Christina & Mike Locke,, Karen & Mike Covert, April & Jay Conti, Jennie & Scott Grover, and Mark Ferrante, and four great grandchildren ; Christian, Taylor Covert, Michael , Samantha Locke.
Mr. Stavrevich was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Bondariva Stavrevich whom he married on May 22, 1930 and passed away on June 23, 1981, a brother; Pete Stavrevich, and a sister; Vasa Stavrevich.
As per Mr. Stavrevich's wishes a private visitation will be held by the family.
Also, a private Blessing Service will be held on Thursday morning at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc.with Father Lou Pascazi officiating. Internment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, St. Peter's Mausoleum.
Contributions in Mr. Stavrevich's name may be made to the Ellwood City & Wurtemburg Perry Volunteer Fire Departments, or to the Good Samaritan Hospice 3500 Brooktree Rd., Suite 320, Wexford, Pa 15090.
Uncle Bo lead a long and blessed life and has left the world a richer place for his part in it. We will try to live up to your expectations and continue your traditions. With love for the rest of my family from Nova Scotia, we wish that we could be there with you. DnA
It was a pleasure to grow up in Ellport with the Stavrevichs, Petros and all of our neighbors. We are saddened by MR. Stavrevichs death.
