Elizabeth McIntyre , 88

Mrs. Elizabeth 'Liz' McIntyre, 88, of 533 Hazel Ave. Ellwood City, passed away at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 6:00pm.

Elizabeth was born on August 28, 1921 in Ellwood City to the late Louis Zona and Josephine Tortorello Zona. She attended Lincoln High School and then worked for the Ellwood City Knitting Mills, the U.S. Steel Tube Mill and Precision Metals in Ellport. Liz was a member of Holy Redeemer Church where she served with the Christian Mothers and on the Special Activities Group. She was a Democratic Party Committee women in Ellwood City for many years and a social member of the SOI #608. Liz was an avid bingo player and enjoyed baking. She was also a member of the Golden Agers and Challenges.

Survivors include two daughters and their spouses; Peggy & Jim Figurel of Ellwood City and Rose & Kevin Imhoff of Ellwood City. One son and his wife; Jim & Sue McIntyre of Woodstock, Georgia. One sister and her husband; Rose & Ray Agostinelli of State College, thirteen grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond J. McIntyre whom she married June 21, 1952 and passed away November 5, 2006, three brothers; Joseph C., Charles and George Zona, and two sisters Mary Baros and Carmella LoMagro

Visitation will be held on Friday July 23, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home Inc.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday by 9:20 am as the procession to church will begin to leave at 9:30 am.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel fund
