Albert F. Manauzzi , 85

Mr. Albert F. Manauzzi, age 85 , of 84 Summit Ave., Ellwood City, passed away at his residence on Tuesday at 7:40 pm.

Albert was born on December 1, 1923 in Ellwood City to the late Salvatore Manauzzi and Natalina Conti Manauzzi. A member of the Lincoln High School class of 1943 Al joined the U.S. Army on March 23, 1943 and served until Febuary 6, 1946 as a Sgt. with the 51st Fighter Control Squadron in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre, and was in the battles of Central Burma & India Burma receiving 2 bronze stars. Mr. Manauzzi was employed first by the National Plumbing and Fixtures Co. in Ellwood City from 1948 to 1967, then by the Matthews Conveyor Co in Ellwood City from 1967 until 1976. Afterwhich, Al worked for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for 10 years retiring in 1976. Albert was a member of the Holy Redeemer Church & the special Activities Group of Holy Redeemer Church, the S.O.I. # 608, American Legion Post 157, VFW Post 252, and a social member of the Saxons Club.

Mr. Manauzzi is survived by his nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents Al was preceded in death by four brothers, Angelo, Alexander, William, & Vincent Manauzzi, and a sister Stella Lascuola.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 11, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home Inc.. Member of the Holy Redeemer Special Activities Group are asked to meet at the Funeral Home on Thursday by 7:20 pm to conduct a service at 7:30 pm .

A mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Manauzzi will be held on Friday Decemeber 12, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church . Internment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the Funeral Home on by 9:20 am as the procession to church will begin to leave at 9:30 am. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the cemetery on Friday by 10:45 am to conduct full military rites.
