Louie Bucci , 84

Louie Bucci Mr. Louie Bucci, age 84, of 110 First Street. Ellport, passed away at the Ellwood City Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Bucci was born on April 25, 1924 in Leesburg to the late Carmen & Carmella Buccelli Bucci. Louie joined the U.S. Army on June 11, 1943 and served until October 13, 1945 as a Private First Class with the Company A Fifth Medical Battalion. He was awarded five bronze stars for his involvement with the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, & Central Europe.

Louie was a member of the Holy Redeemer Church, and had worked for the U.S. Steel Co. in Ellwood City for over 40 year's in the foundry department, after which he worked at Ellcast in their Foundry department for 10 year's. Also, he was a Police Officer for the Ellport Borough in the 1960's and 1970's, a Civil Defense Director for Ellport During the Cold War, along with being a Lawrence County Emergency Management Director for Ellport in the 1970's. Mr. Bucci was a life time member of the Ellport Boosters Club, enjoyed fishing, hunting rabbits, and raising rabbits.

Survivors include Mr. Bucci's wife, Joyce Boots Bucci whom he married on June 8, 1991, one daughter, Jeannine Bucci of Ellwood City, three sons and their spouses, Anthony "Tony"& Mona Bucci of Wampum, Bernard & Loretta Bucci of Lisbon, Maine, Jeffery & Cathy Bucci of Ellwood City, one step son and his wife , Todd & Dawn Heitger of Tuscon, Arizona, three brothers and their spouses, Anthony & Anna Mae Bucci , James & Anna Bucci, Leo, Loraine Bucci all of Ellwood City, three sisters and two brother in laws, Josephine Angiolelli of New Castle, Marian & Francis Fusco of Edinburg, Lucille & Steve Ferrante of Ellwood City, five grandchildren, James, William , & Hope Prater, Christopher Bucci, & Chelsey Bucci, and three great grandchildren.

Mr. Bucci was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Faraoni Bucci whom he married on August 17, 1946 and had passed away on January 10, 1990, a grandson, Curtis Bucci, three brothers, Dominick Butch, Nicholas Bucci, & John Bucci, and four sisters, Nora Deli, Angeline Bucci, Anna Shirilla, & Elizabeth Telesz.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 to 7 pm and on Saturday from 9 - 10 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home Inc..

A service will be conducted on Saturday at 10:00 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. with both Father Lou Pasczi and Rev. Phil Croklin officiating. Internment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery . Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the Cemetery on Saturday by 10:45 am to conduct full military rites.

Contributions may be made to the First Church of God memorial fund.
