Carmen Pessolano , 79

Mr. Carmen Pessolano, age 79, of 125 Park Dr. North Sewickley Twp., passed away at the Evergreen Nursing Center on Monday at 4:30pm.

Carmen was born on December 4, 1928 in Ellwood City to the late Umberto Pessolano and Anna Macchia Pessolano. A member of the Lincoln High School class of 1947, he also served in the U.S. Army from Febuary 28, 1951 until November 20, 1951 with the Battery D 735th AAA Gun Battalion as a private. Mr. Pessolano had worked for the Ellwood Candy Co. for over 40 years as a salesman, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council, the Sons of Italy #608, & the El-Vest Stock Club, and had enjoyed playing raquetball & golf.

Survivors include a daughter Carolyne (Carrie) Pessolano of North Sewickley Twp., two sons Christopher Pessolano of Moon Twp., and Craig Pessolano of North Sewickley Twp., one brother Arsenio "Sam" Pessolano of Colonia, New Jersey.

Carmen was preceded in death by his wife Christine Perry Pessolano whom he married on June 28, 1955 and passed away on July 3, 2001 , and a sister Columbia St. Angelo.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc..

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at the Hoply Redeemer Church with Father Lou Pascazi Officiating. Internment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery. Those attending the Funeral Mass are asked to meet at the Funeral Home on Thursday by 9:20 am as the procession to church will begin to leave at 9:30 am.
