Mr. Richard J. "Dick" Wright, age 77, of 463 State Route 288 Ellwood City, passed away at the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh on Thursday at 12:35 pm.
Mr. Wright was born on July 17,1931 in New Castle to the late Joseph Calvin Wright & Dorothy Kirkwood Wright. He was affiliated with the First Church of God, and had worked at the George K. Garret Co., the Rochester Machine Shop, Precision Metal, was a part owner of Wright's used car sales, and retired from Weyerhauser in 1993. Also, Richard enjoyed camping, going to auctions, hunting, fishing, riding his scooter, and loved his dog's Co-Co and Candy.
He is survived by his wife Bertha Irene Evans Wright whom he married on October 1, 1953, four daughters and their spouses, Karen & Richard Ottoviani of Jamestown, Pa, JoAnne & Richard Massioni of Franklin Twp., Kathy & John Rugh of Perry Twp, Louise & James Osche of North Sewickley Twp., three sons and two daughter in laws, Richard & Rhonda Wright of North Sewickley Twp., Dennis & Kim Wright of Fombell, and Joseph Wright of North Sewickley Twp., four brothers, Bill Kirkwood of New Castle, Jack "Jiggs" & Norma Wright of Fombell, Robert "Herb" & Liz Wright of Fombell, and Jerry & Pat Wright of Cranberry Twp., three sisters, Joann, & Paige Best of Fombell, Margaret Best of Ohio, and Nancy Mercado of Ellwood City, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Mr. Wright was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Lowers.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Monday from 10 - 11 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home Inc..
Services for Mr. Wright will be conducted on Monday at 11 am with Pastor Phil Conklin officiating. Internment will follow at the Lillyville Church of God Cemetery.
Our deepest sympathy to the family. Dick was a good man and liked by all who knew him.
